I don't know how many of you watched the NBC TV show "Ed" from 2000-2004, but I did and I loved it. Despite the bad ending to the show, it did provide me with many weeks of laughs and discussions around the ole work watercooler. My favorite part of the show was definitely the bets between Mike and Ed; like the time that Ed bets Mike that he can't walk up to a stranger in the bowling alley and sing Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack's mushy ballad, "Tonight I Celebrate My Love". If you want a good laugh or something to challenge your friends with you can see all of their bets here.
One disappointing thing about this great piece of television is that it has never made it onto DVD. Evidently there is an online petition of sorts that you can sign at Amazon that will inform you when the show is released. Hopefully the executives that are battling over the various rights will see this and get a move on!
We are Dan & Megan Layman. We met in December '02, got engaged 7 weeks later, and were married in October '03. We are both natives of that great flat corn paradise called Illinois. In the fall of '04 we put all of our belongings in a truck and moved across the country to North Carolina.
We currently live in Charlotte although our hearts are still in the Apex/Cary/Raleigh area. Megan is a registered nurse at Presbyterian Hospital's Women's Center where she gets to care for moms and newborns. Dan is a student at Reformed Theological Seminary and a pastoral intern at Uptown Church (PCA). We've been here since summer of '06 and will be ready to move back to where our hearts are in '09 after Dan graduates with his M.Div. We don't have any children (yet!), but we do have a black cat named Gracie Belle.
We don't know what the future holds but we are sure excited to walk faithfully into the good works that God prepared beforehand for us to do. Thanks for joining us here on the journey!
